Why is it so important for our health?


Magnesium is a mineral salt, specifically a macroelement. There are about 25 grams of it in our body, mainly distributed in the bones, cells and a small part in the blood.

Magnesium is a cofactor in more than 300 chemical reactions in our body and it is therefore intuitive how important its role is in our well-being. His work affects both physical and mental health.

The most powerful action occurs at the level of the musculoskeletal system, where it promotes correct contractility and muscle strength: useful for relieving cramps and muscle fatigue. Thanks to its influence on bone tissue, magnesium is also very useful in preventing osteoporosis.

Magnesium positively influences the regulation of circulating hormone levels, helps to cope with anxiety and stress and promotes the regulation of the sleep-wake cycle. Thanks to this activity, it also contributes to the regularization of the menstrual cycle.

In addition to these long-known functions, recent studies have shown a close connection between low magnesium levels and a greater impact of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases such as diabetes.

The recommended daily dose of magnesium (that safe and effective dose that ensures you are never deficient) is about 6 mg per kg of body weight, or about 350 mg per day for an adult.

Magnesium is found in many foods in the Mediterranean diet (legumes, grains, fruits and vegetables...), but getting it daily is not always “easy”.

Including medium mineral water in your diet helps achieve optimal magnesium levels.
